I have to say that I am quite upset that President Obama has decided to send an additional 30,000 troops to Afghanistan in 2010 with the intention of pulling them out before the end of 2011. I was hoping that he would be more of a peacemaker and not follow in George Bush’s path of believing that the only way to reconcile with your enemy is to fight them. War doesn’t solve the problems. You can’t kill all of your enemies and it only hardens the resolve of those still standing to get revenge.
The majority of Americans and many in Congress do not support sending aditional troops to Afghanistan so we will see if this actually happens.
