Happy Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe December 12, 2010

I hope this has been a good year for you and thank you for subscribing to my posts.

I heard a talk a few days ago about Our Lady of Guadalupe and here are a few interesting facts:

The roses blooming on the hillside were from Castille, Spain and had not been introduced in Mexico yet.

Tonantzin Coatalopeuh means she who has dominion over the serpents.

For the native Mayan indians the snake represented the feminine energy. They believed in a balance of the feminine and masculine.

Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin means respected eagle teacher.

He was not a peasant but a wise man.

Mexico comes from the word Meshica and Metzli meaning moon clan.
